Production of motor vehicles in Ukraine rose by 91.8% YoY in January-April, to 2,064 units, according to the Ukravtoprom Association.
In particular, production of passenger cars grew by 107.5%, to 1,700 units, while the output of commercial vehicles shrank by 38.8%, to 153 units. At the same time, the number of buses produced over the period under review soared 19-fold, to 220 units.
In April Ukraine produced 621 vehicles, up by 7.7% YoY and down by 9.6% MoM. Passenger cars, the output of which almost quadrupled in April, to 570 units, accounted for the lion’s share of total vehicle output.
Ukravtoprom reported that only Eurocar plant was producing cars.
Production of buses in April fell by 37% MoM, to 51 units. However, there were no reports about trucks manufactured in April.
As Ukravtoprom claims, truck manufacturer AutoKrAZ, for unexplained reasons, had not been providing statistics on truck production since August last year. (UNIAN/Business World Magazine)
