Since the beginning of 2016 and as of December 20, Kazakhstan supplied 7.9 million tons of grains to foreign markets, up by 12% YoY, the First Vice-Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Aituganov declared.
According to him, the forecasts for grain exports in the current MY total 8.5-9 million tons. The general harvest of grains in the current year totaled 23.7 million tons in bunker weight, up by almost 4 million tons YoY.
In 2016 Kazakh agrarians harvested 17.8 million tons of wheat, 3.3 million tons of barley, 347 thousand tons of oats, 63.9 thousand tons of millet, 502.6 thousand tons of rice, and 736.5 thousand tons of pulses and other grain crops. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
