Since the beginning of 2016, Kazakhstan exported nearly 7 million tons of grains including flour in grain equivalent, the Vice Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulmira Isayeva declared.
According to her, in the current year the country produced a record grain harvest – 23.7 million tons, with the average yield of 1.54 ton/ha.
Also, the Vice Minister reported that the grain production volumes in clean weight were forecast at 21.4 million tons. Such volumes will completely cover the domestic needs of the country, and increase the export potential to 9 million tons, up nearly by 21% YoY.
The countries of Central Asia, Afghanistan, Iran and Azerbaijan are the traditional markets for the exports of Kazakh grains and flour. Kazakhstan also plans to increase the supply volumes to the countries of North Africa, the Middle East, the EU and China. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
