On October 22, Ukraine imported record-breaking 42.016 million cubic meters of natural gas from Slovakia, according to the data from public joint-stock company Ukrtransgaz.
The previous highest figure for imports from Slovakia in the 26-month history of gas imports from this country was recorded in October: 41.859 million cubic meters on October 21, and 41.627 million cubic meters on October 5.
The application for gas imports for October 23, exceeds 42 million cubic meters.
On October 1, through October 22, Ukraine imported 1.077 billion cubic meters of gas from Europe, including 897.5 million cubic meters from Slovakia, 92.8 million cubic meters from Poland and 86.9 million cubic meters from Hungary.
Earlier Naftogaz Ukrainy Board Chairman Andriy Kobolev predicted that in October gas imports from Europe would total some 1.3-1.4 billion cubic meters.
