The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved of the conditions of re-tender for the privatization of JSC Odessa Portside Plant.
During consideration of the issue on the agenda Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said that he considered necessary to check whether there hadn’t been any violations during the formation of the starting price of the OPP for the privatization tender in May.
“I believe that there is the need to carefully analyze the assessment methods, which were done in May”, he said. “It should be a subject to be considered by law enforcement agencies to determine whether there had been correct methods because such actions could have potentially caused losses to the state. This issue must be addressed”.
Volodymyr Groysman reminded that back in May the price of the plant had been calculated by a Ukrainian expert, the government had to agree and the market had determined it as being overestimated.
Now the State Property Fund of Ukraine suggested starting price for the auction of the plant at the level of 5 billion UAH. Thus, the basic conditions of participation in the tender of the OPP privatization are much better than in May, the head of government said.
The Prime Minister noted that only market could determine the price of company. (KMU/Business World Magazine)
