During a working trip to the Odesa region, the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with the leadership of the Regional Military Administration and heads of energy enterprises on preparations for the autumn-winter period of 2026-2027.
“Special attention is paid to the restoration of damaged equipment and the arrangement of protective structures. For our part, we are strengthening the region with the necessary equipment. Since 2022, enterprises of the Odesa region have received 563.1 tons of humanitarian aid, of which 262.4 tons – already this year. In particular, generators, transformers, solar panels and other necessary equipment,” the head of the Ministry of Energy said.
The purchase of critical equipment for 130.7 million euros from the Energy Support Fund has been approved for the region’s enterprises. To date, contracts have been signed for a total amount of about 41.2 million euros, of which equipment worth 26.5 million euros has already been delivered to the region.
“We also continue to develop distributed generation. With the support of UNDP, new generating capacity of 94.8 MW is being created in the Odesa region. In particular, 11 cogeneration plants with a total capacity of 4,000 kW, 4 generating plants with a capacity of 4,000 kW, 4 gas piston plants and one gas turbine plant have been purchased and delivered. We are especially grateful to the Japanese agency JICA for the delivery of 24 generators with a capacity of 4.18 MW,” said Denys Shmyhal.
15 healthcare institutions of the region are involved in the implementation of the “Ray of Hope” project in the Odesa region. Six of them already have their own electricity generation from solar power plants with a total capacity of 0.83 MW.
“Preparations for winter continue according to a specific plan. All those responsible have specific tasks. We monitor their implementation and the state of readiness of the energy infrastructure of the region,” summarized the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Energy of Ukraine. (Energy Ministry)
