Since the beginning of the year, the budget has already received over UAH 4.2 billion of “Google Tax”. This was reported on her Facebook page by the Acting Head of the State Tax Service Lesya Karnaukh.
This year’s revenues exceed the figure for January-February last year by UAH 0.7 billion. Then UAH 3.5 billion was paid to the budget.
“These funds are paid by non-residents who supply electronic services to individuals in the customs territory of Ukraine and are registered as VAT payers. In particular, in January-February, 38.5 million euros and $52.1 million were paid,” she noted.
Leading companies in paying the tax are: Apple, Google, Valve, Meta, Sony, Etsy and Netflix.
To date, 151 non-residents who supply electronic services to individuals in the customs territory of Ukraine have already registered as VAT payers.
“Paying such a tax is an important element of fair taxation of the digital economy and contributes to additional replenishment of the state budget of Ukraine,” added Lesya Karnaukh. (State Tax Service)
