Agrarians of the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts of Russia started harvesting corn. The first results demonstrated that the average yield exceeded the last year results almost 4 times to 5.98 ton/ha, against 1.63 ton/ha on the same date in 2015, the Ministry of Agriculture declared.
In particular, to date the North Caucasian District harvested corn throughout 0.2 thousand ha, with the average yield at 8.5 ton/ha, the Southern District – 1.4 thousand ha, with the average yield at 5.63 c/ha.
In the current year the general planted areas of corn in Russia total nearly 2.9 million ha. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
