Egypt is Poland’s prospective supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG), Andrzej Duda, the Polish president, said during his visit to Cairo on May 30.
While in Egypt, Duda held talks with his Egyptian counterpart, Abdul Fattah al-Sisi.
“We believe Egypt is a very prospective partner and we absolutely support negotiations that are going on between Egypt and the European Commission when it comes to deliveries of liquefied gas to the European Union,” Duda said.
Egypt, the fastest-growing Arab exporter of LNG, is the 20th biggest producer of natural gas in the world and has the 16th biggest global gas deposits.
The Polish president also announced he had plans to attend the 27th UN climate conference, COP-27, which would take place in Sharm el-Sheikh, a coastal city on the Sinai Peninsula, in November.
“I will try to take part in this conference in person and I can assure you that Poland will be represented at the highest official and professional level,” Duda said. (The First News/Business World Magazine)
