A new aircraft-manufacturing plant has been opened on the territory of Tbilisi Aircraft Manufacturing, where aircraft owned by the Defense Forces of Georgia will be fully restored and repaired by Georgian specialists in accordance with modern standards, the Ministry of Defense reports.
Spread over 3,000-square meter territory the new plant was opened by the Defense Minister Irakli Gharibashvili and Economy Minister Natia Turnava.
Currently Mi-24 helicopters belonging to the Defense Forces are being repaired at the new plant. In addition to the Mi-24s, the Mi-8 Mtv, UH-1 Iroquois and L-39 training aircrafts will be renovated and upgraded in the near future.
Infrastructure and repair works are being carried out on the territory of the aircraft factory as well. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
