Swiss chocolate company Camille Bloch intends to plant hazelnuts plantations in Georgia and also is going to use Georgian hazelnuts in the production of Ragusa, Swiss chocolate.
Georgian Prime Minister Gakharia and CEO of Chocolats Camille Bloch Daniel Bloch discussed the details of the project at a meeting on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum taking place in Davos, Switzerland.
Bloch has already registered the company in Georgia and found a 561-ha land piece in Georgia in Lagodekhi municipality.
The company aims to cultivate hazelnuts using new technology noting it will increase productivity.
The company is planning to employ about 40 people.
Camille Bloch is producing 3,700 tons of chocolate per year. The annual revenue of the company is more than $45 million. (Agenda/Business World Magazine)
