The average monthly nominal salary of civil servants in Azerbaijan in 2018 increased by 15.3% YoY, to 796.5 manats, the State Statistical Committee reported.
According to the committee, as of January 1, there were 29,100 civil servants in the country, 28.5% of which were women. Of them, 4.5% of civil servants worked in the top administrative positions of the third classification, 75.7% worked in the top administrative positions of the fourth-seventh classifications, and 19.8% were civilian assistants.
As the statistical data show, the work experience of civil servants is as follows: 7.4% have experience of up to one year, 24.2% – from one to five years, 23.2% – from five to ten years, 16.8% – from 10 to 15 years, and 28.4% – 15 years and more.
The distribution of civil servants by age groups is as follows: 17.2% of employees are up to 30 years of age, 15.9% – between 30 and 34 years of age, 23.6% – between 35 and 44 years of age, 21% – between 45 and 54 years of age, 18.1% – between 55 and 62 years of age, 2.9% – between 63 and 64 years of age, and 1.3% are aged 65 years and older.
About 1.1% of civil servants holding administrative positions in the fourth-seventh classifications are deputy heads of local executive authorities, 14.6% are heads of departments, 11.7% are deputy heads of departments, 7.9% are sector heads, 20.9% are consultants, 12.8% are lead consultants, 5.3% are senior consultants, and 25.7% are principal consultants.
