Bilateral trade between Ukraine and the United Kingdom amounted to $2.5 billion in 2018, up by 7.6% YoY, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine has said.
According to the Export Strategy, Ukraine and the United Kingdom have further great prospects for the dynamic development of bilateral trade and economic relations. For this purpose, Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv met with British Trade Commissioner Judith Slater, noting that high trade rates should be maintained after Britain’s exit from the EU.
According to the results of 2018, the United Kingdom is the 10th largest trading partner of Ukraine among European countries. The volume of trade between the countries is 3.21% of the total trade with Europe.
During the meeting, Kubiv stressed the importance of developing cooperation between the states in all areas, from trade and investment to industrial cooperation, as well as participating in regional and European value chains. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
