Latvian airline airBaltic has carried 2,770,047 more passengers to destinations in Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and the Middle East in the first eight months of 2018.
In August airBaltic carried 440,562 passengers, up by 14% YoY. In addition to that, airBaltic carried 18% more passengers in this year’s summer season than last year, setting a new record for this period.
airBaltic CEO Martin Gauss notes: “This was the strongest summer season in the history of the airline, successfully continuing our sustainable growth strategy. By performing more flights to different destinations, we continue reaching towards world-class goals on the inside of the business – both in relation to punctuality and regularity.”
In the first eight months of 2018 airBaltic performed 37,186 flights. In August the airline performed 5,341 flights, up by 11%. Passenger load factor in airBaltic flights was 77% in the first eight months of 2018 (84% in August).
15-minute flight punctuality index in the first eight months was 86%.
airBaltic provides flights to more than 70 destinations around the world from Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius. The airline offers convenient connectivity between Riga and a network of destinations in Europe, Scandinavia, CIS and the Middle East. In summer 2019, airBaltic plans to add new destinations from Tallinn to Malaga, Brussels and Copenhagen, as well as provide direct flight connectivity between Riga and Stuttgart.
