The Ukrainian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has published a list of state enterprises, organizations and institutions that will either remain in state ownership or will be transferred to concession, privatized or liquidated.
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the relevant documents that together represented a strategic vision for the further management of state-owned enterprises, subordinated to the central executive authorities, on July 4.
According to the documents, out of 3,444 state-owned enterprises from the general list some 893 are subject to privatization in 2017-2020 or can be privatized in this period after relevant legislative acts or the acts of transfer to municipal ownership are amended.
The largest companies in terms of assets and that are subject to privatization are the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine, Oschadbank, PrivatBank, Ukreximbank, Centrenergo, the Agrarian Fund, Ukrgasbank and Turboatom.
The ministry said the size of assets, net profit, other financial indicators were not a criterion for the distribution of these objects. It is indicated that the list and distribution by groups will be updated. (Interfax-Ukraine/Business World Magazine)
