The Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development is increasing the number of checkpoints that are eligible for choosing the time of border crossing by buses within the eCherha service.
Four more checkpoints have been added to the list on the borders with Poland, Hungary and Slovakia. This brings to 20 the number of checkpoints where you can count on not having to wait in physical queues.
Buses started moving in the new queue, called “On Schedule”, on September 2 at 12:00, with registration for the new type of queue available from 12:00 on August 30. This functionality applies to both regular and irregular buses.
“Our main goal is to reduce the waiting time for bus passengers in queues at the border and ensure timely border crossing. Scaling up the functionality that allows the carrier to book a time slot for entering the border will allow both regular and irregular carriers to plan their trip in advance and understand the situation at the border. We already have the results of the service, which confirm that at least 70% of buses arrive on time at the checkpoint where this option is available, which proves the effectiveness of the system,” said Serhiy Derkach, Deputy Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development.
The new functionality will be extended to the following checkpoints: Smilnytsia – Kroscienko (Poland), Uhryniv – Dolhobyczow (Poland), Luzhanka – Beregsurany (Hungary) and Malyi Bereznyi – Ubla (Slovakia) – only for minibuses.
International passenger carriers will be able to choose a convenient time for crossing the border in advance and cross the specified checkpoints by appointment in the eCherha system on echerha.gov.ua or through the eCherha application. (Government portal)
