The first train run on Vilnius-Riga route may be organised as early as December, as estimated by Lithuanian railway company LTG Link. Latvia, on the other hand, is more cautious about this plan. At the same time, Latvia promises not to put obstacles in the way.
There are two options to reach Vilnius from Riga using public transports: bus and aircraft. Soon enough there will be a third one. The planned length of a train trip between the two Baltic capitals is 4 hours and 15 minutes.
This is comparable to a trip on a bus or a private plane. The Lithuanian company does not reveal the price of the train ticket. Only a handful of stops are planned for the train trip between Riga and Vilnius: Jelgava, Joniskis, Siauliai, Kaisiadorys and Vilnius. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
