The parties noted the importance of the agreements reached in April between the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko and the Vice Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection Robert Habeck on expanding the areas of German-Ukrainian energy partnership with a focus on green renewal and reconstruction of the Ukrainian energy sector.
As part of the agreements reached, the parties pledged to expand the Partnership in such areas as restoring energy infrastructure, promoting the sustainable resilience of the energy sector and expanding the use of renewable energy sources, including wind, solar, biomass, hydropower and green hydrogen.
The meeting also dealt with the integration of the Ukrainian and European energy markets, including the completion of the synchronization of the Ukrainian energy system with the European ENTSO-E.
The German side expressed its interest in maintaining communication with ENTSO-E on the prospects for increasing the volume of commercial electricity exchange between Ukraine and European countries.
Representatives of the Bundestag also expressed interest in participating in the Third German-Ukrainian Energy Day to be held in Berlin on October 25.
