President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced the signing of a memorandum with a number of major companies on their work in Crimea after the de-occupation of the peninsula.
He said this during a press conference on the sidelines of the Crimean Platform summit.
“Today we will sign a memorandum with a dozen, maybe even more, serious leading companies that are willing and ready to come and develop Crimea economically immediately after de-occupation,” the head of state said.
According to him, it is important that after liberation from Russian invaders, the economy develops in Crimea and the peninsula works not only during the hot tourist season.
The President emphasized that concrete steps were being developed to de-occupy in the context of the security situation in Crimea.
Zelensky said that after the liberation, a temporary military administration would be established on the peninsula.
The head of state added that the actual integration of the peninsula into Ukraine was important, albeit difficult, as it had been under Russian occupation for 9.5 years.
He also reminded that Ukraine is moving towards the EU and expressed confidence that Crimea as part of the Ukrainian state in the EU would be “a completely different story”. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
