Ukrainian state-owned company Centrenergo, which is managed by the State Property Fund of Ukraine (SPFU), has started exporting electricity for the first time.
“On April 26, Centrenergo started exporting electricity for the first time in its history. Moldova became the first foreign buyer,” the SPFU said.
Centrenergo noted that exports would allow the company to reduce its dependence on the domestic electricity market and gain access to EU markets.
“The company is developing cooperation with the European energy sector to increase electricity exports,” Centrenergo added. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
