The World Bank has approved an additional financing package totaling $610 million to address urgent relief and recovery needs in Ukraine, as the war with Russia continues.
“The package includes an additional $500-million loan from the World Bank’s International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) that is supported by a guarantee from Britain,” Reuters said.
It also includes a new project to restore and improve access to healthcare and address war-related needs for health services.
The World Bank announced on December 16 that it had established a multi-donor trust fund aimed at supporting the Government of Ukraine, as it addressed the relief and the subsequent recovery of the country, driven by critical needs from the ongoing war. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
