Lithuania has already provided 3 million euros in aid to Ukraine to help it rebuild its energy infrastructure, with an additional 2 million euros to be given to the country’s war-ravaged energy sector shortly, the Energy Ministry has said.
Russia is deliberately destroying Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, Energy Minister Dainius Kreivys says.
“To our knowledge, 40% of the infrastructure has been damaged. That is more than 400 critical facilities across Ukraine,” he said in a press release.
Lithuanian energy companies have sent 12 generators of various capacities, over 130 tons of fuel and almost 550 tons of firefighting foam to Ukraine since the start of the war. Another 250 transformers and 160 generators are expected to be handed over to Kyiv soon, according to the press release. (LRT/Business World Magazine)
