The market of Bahrain might provide new prospects for the export of Moldovan agricultural products. This was the subject of a discussion between Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Vladimir Bolea and his counterpart from Bahrain Wael Bin Nasser Al Mubarak at a summit on the matter held in Israel on October 20.
The officials referred to the sale of Moldovan vegetal products and of animal origin. According to Wael Bin Nasser Al Mubarak, his country is dependent on the import of agricultural products from abroad or, given the Russian-Ukrainian war, Bahrain shows interest in such products as fruits, vegetables, eggs and fowl.
The parties found out that there was bilateral commerce between the states; yet, the mutual trade exchanges had a much bigger potential. In this respect, the officials took a joint decision to make a connection between the Chambers of Commerce from both countries, in order to establish contacts between Moldovan producers and business people from Bahrain.
The Bahraini minister noted that his country would facilitate the access of Moldovan products not only to its market, but would also contribute to increasing exports to Saudi Arabia. The Bahraini side suggested that contacts between business people from the two countries should be extended and promoted, including on the line of the Bahrain Economic Development Board.
