100,200 doses of an Omicron-adapted coronavirus vaccine have reached Lithuania, the Health Ministry said on October 3.
Adapted to the Omicron subtypes BA.4 and BA.5, the vaccine will be used as the first or second booster shots.
Vaccine makers plan to deliver more than half a million doses of the adapted vaccines in October, the ministry said.
Children aged 12 years and over can now register for the first booster shot, while those aged 18 years and over will be able to receive a second booster shot as of October 5.
Just over a third of the Lithuanian population has already been vaccinated with the first booster dose, and 3,200 people have received their second booster. (LRT/Business World Magazine)
