Since year-start, food prices in Ukraine have increased by an average of 25%, with the largest price hikes recorded for fruits and vegetables, the State Statistics Service reports.
Prices for food products and alcoholic beverages have increased by 25% since the beginning of 2022, the report says.
Fruit prices have gone up by 60.2%, while those for vegetables by 58.5%, fish prices by 33.1%, bread by 29% and sugar by 27.9%.
The only product that was cheaper in August against December 2021 was eggs (-17%).
As for liquor and tobacco products, prices have increased by 23.6% and by 13.3%, respectively.
Among the goods of the non-food group, fuel and lubricants and household appliances went up in price the most (by 64% and by 25.9%, respectively). (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
