Poland was one of the EU’s three biggest beer producers in 2021, Eurostat, the EU’s statistical office, reported on August 30.
Last year, just as in 2020, Germany was the top producer with 7.5 billion litres. This represents 23% of the total EU production of 33.1 billion litres of beer containing alcohol.
Germany was followed by Poland and Spain, both with 3.7 billion litres produced, or 11% of the total EU production. Next came the Netherlands with 2.5 billion litres, or 7% of the total.
The production of these four countries amounts to 52% of total EU beer production.
Trade data showed that the Netherlands continued to lead as the top exporter of beer containing alcohol in 2021, just as in 2020. (The First News/Business World Magazine)
