As part of his working trip to Cherkasy region, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal visited one of largest power generating enterprises Centerenergo.
The Head of Government has accentuated it is crucial to complete all current repair activities at the enterprise before the start of the heating season.
“We are preparing for one of the most difficult heating seasons. The state is taking all the necessary steps so that we pass it safely and confidently. We maintain a constant dialog with regional and local authorities, as well as communities about the need to get ready for all possible scenarios,” Denys Shmyhal emphasized.
The Head of the Government emphasized that sufficient reserves of energy resources, in particular of coal, was a key objective for everyone who bore responsibility for that. The Prime Minister reminded that according to the plan, until October 15, 2.5 million tons of coal should be accumulated at the TPPs and CHPs storage facilities. As the Minister of Energy German Galushchenko informed the Head of Government, 1.8 million tons of coal had been accumulated in storages of TPPs and CHPs, and the process was according to the schedule. The current volumes of gas in the storages also correspond to the plan – more than 12 billion cubic meters.
“Now all regions demonstrate readiness of an average of 60%. This complies with the preparation plan elaborated by the Government. We will speed up work in this direction in order to pass the heating season stably,” said Denys Shmyhal. (Government portal/Business World Magazine)
