Ukrainian oilseed industry is export-oriented, and logistical problems since the beginning of the war in the country have primarily affected prices, demand and exports, oilseed analyst of APK-Inform Svitlana Kyrychok has noted.
According to her, not only the volumes and pace of shipments have changed, but also the structure of exports itself.
“Last year, Ukraine exported more than 80% of sunflower oil and meal. Since the beginning of the war, sunflower seed has taken the leading position, with a share of about 38%. Of course, further exports will depend on the functioning of the ports. The fact that grain has already begun to be shipped is a good sign for the oilseed segment,” Kyrychok said.
