The Lithuanian Post (Lietuvos Pastas), Lithuania’s state-owned postal company, and PayPost, its network of financial services, have suspended the service of money transfers to and from Russia and Belarus.
It will also suspend commercial, i.e. business customers’ parcel service to those countries on March 2.
“We have decided to stop commercial shipments to Russia and Belarus, and we have not made any remittances since today, consistently contributing to restrictions on the movement of financial flows,” Asta Sungailiene, the CEO of Lietuvos Pastas, said in a press release.
Commercial shipments to Russia and Belarus will be suspended from March 2. Until then, the postal operator will seek to deliver parcels despite the disruptions in international logistics with those countries.
Afterwards, the postal company will no longer accept parcels from business customers for delivery to Russia or Belarus. (LRT/Business World Magazine)
