In January-October 2021, a total of 1.516 billion cigarettes were exported from Latvia to other countries, down by 183.203 million cigarettes or by 10.8% YoY, according to data compiled by the State Revenue Service (VID).
61.234 million cigars and cigarillos were exported to other countries last year, up by 32.1%. Additionally a total of 17,748 kg of smoking tobacco was exported from Latvia, up by 74%.
In ten months of 2021, a total of 12,797 kg of heated tobacco was exported from Latvia to other countries, up by 88.8%.
A total of 132,714 kg of tobacco leaves was exported from Latvia, up by 13.3%.
Most of the tobacco products were exported to other EU member states – 1.454 billion cigarettes, 58.993 million cigars and cigarillos, 11,772 kg of smoking tobacco, 12,283 kg of heated tobacco and 132,714 kg of tobacco leaves. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
