In January-October, milk production in Ukraine decreased by 6% YoY, to 7.528 million tons, the Association of Milk Producers (AMP) reported.
“This was due to a significant drop in production by private households,” the association said, adding that the ratio of industrial and milk production by private households over the reporting period totaled 30.6% to 69.4%.
Agricultural enterprises produced almost 2.307 million tons of milk, down by 0.6%. The largest increase in milk production was recorded in Ternopil region (+13.9%, 97.6 thousand tons), Kherson region (+10.1%, 41.5 thousand tons) and Vinnytsia region (+5.9%, 187.8 thousand tons).
Private households also decreased milk production to almost 5.223 million tons, down by 7.2%. The largest decrease of milk production by private households was recorded in Kharkiv region (-20.6%, 160.6 thousand tons), Cherkasy region (-14.2%, 120.2 thousand tons) and Kherson region (-13.6%, 165.7 thousand tons).
