Presidential candidate of Uzbekistan from the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Business People, the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with voters in the Jizzakh region. Addressing supporters, Mirziyoyev unveiled plans to implement more than 4,000 large, medium and small investment projects in the region totaling $12 billion, which would result in the creation of over 120,000 new jobs.
The government in the coming years would expand the territory of the free economic zone Jizzakh and place more than 90 industrial projects worth $800 million in it. The number of small industrial zones would also expand.
The region’s exports in the next five years would increase three-fold and reach $620 million per year, with the share of industrial exports amounting to $500 million.
Mirziyoyev noted that the nature of the region was favorable for the development of both domestic and international tourism. Projects worth $300 million resulting in the creation of 25,000 jobs are planned in this direction.
He added that modern agricultural technologies and new varieties would be introduced on 100,000 hectares of land, which would bring the average yield of cotton to 60 hundredweights and grain to 90 hundredweights per hectare.
