Milk production in Ukraine shrank by 6.2% YoY in January-August, to 6.04 million tons, the State Statistics Service reported.
Agricultural enterprises produced 1.85 million tons of milk (-1.4%) and households produced 4.19 million tons of milk (-8.3%).
The largest amount of milk over the period under review was produced in Poltava region – 486,100 tons (-6.8%), Vinnytsia region – 459,400 tons (-8%) and Khmelnytsky region – 452,200 tons (+0.6%).
The lowest amount of milk was produced in Luhansk region – 70,600 tons (-10.9%), Donetsk region (97,500 tons, -7.2%) and Zaporizhia region (130,200 tons, -9.4%).
According to the State Statistics Service, Ukraine in January-August 2020 produced 3.8% less milk than in the same period of 2019. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
