Cargo traffic at the Port of Liepaja in January-July increased by 6.8% YoY and totaled 3.79 million tons, the Liepaja Port Authority statistics showed.
Seven-month volume of grain fell by 0.8%, to 1.34 million tons, anthracite volume plummeted by 86.6%, to 28,800 tons, handling of building materials declined by 0.6%, to 416,100 tons, and oil products – by 6%, to 230,100 tons.
Container throughput at the port in January-July surged 3-fold, to 6 819 TEUs, Ro-Ro cargo handling increased by 63%, to 34,798 units, and passenger traffic rose by 29%, to 21,976 people.
The number of calls dropped by 2%, to 935 vessels. (PortNews/Business World Magazine)
