President Gitanas Nauseda has appointed his adviser Simonas Krepsta to the board of the Bank of Lithuania.
Krepsta will fill a vacant spot in the bank’s five-member executive body.
He was Nauseda’s chief adviser on economic and social policy. Irena Segaloviciene, who is advising the president on social issues, will replace Krepsta in Nauseda’s team, according to the president’s office.
Krepsta has been a president’s adviser for the last two years. Previously, he had served in various positions within the Bank of Lithuania.
The Board of the Bank of Lithuania has five seats. The other members are Gediminas Simkus, who chairs the board, Asta Kuniyoshi, Raimondas Kuodis and Marius Jurgilas.
Members of the central bank’s board are appointed for a six-year term by the president. (LRT/Business World Magazine)
