In January-May, local budgets of Kherson region received UAH 542,000 in tourist tax payments, up by 18% YoY, Kherson Regional State Administration reported with reference to information released during the conference call.
“The increase in revenues is due to the collection of tourist tax on the territory of local councils, where the number of accommodation facilities and tourist visits is much less than in resort and recreational communities,” the report reads.
According to Deputy Head of Kherson Regional State Administration Mykola Yakymenko, the current tourist collection rates were approved by local councils in 2019-2020 and should be revised. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
