In Latvia, the government coalition has expressed support to holding lotteries of money prizes to people vaccinated against Covid-19 with the aim of motivating people to vaccinate.
Health Minister Daniels Pavluts (For Development/For) announced the idea on July 5.
“Lotteries or social motivation programs with the elements of a game and positive motivation are carried out in many places in the world, therefore here we use international practice to reach the main goal,” the politician reasoned.
Pavluts elaborated that it was planned to hold the lottery from August and it would be organized on a weekly and a monthly basis, as well as in the longer term with a prize up to 100,000 euros.
The idea is that everyone, who has been vaccinated, takes part in the lottery. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
