The reconstruction of Kryvyi Rih International Airport’s terminal and runway is planned to be completed until October 2022.
This was said during the inspection by President Volodymyr Zelensky of the progress of repair work at the airfield as part of his working trip to Dnipropetrovsk region on June 8.
The restoration of the airport, built in 1978, is planned to be completed until the end of 2022. The total cost of the project is UAH 990 million.
Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Valentyn Reznichenko said that they planned to reconstruct the runway, replace engineering and lighting equipment and repair aprons. According to him, new navigation and meteorological equipment will also be installed.
In parallel with this, the reconstruction of the airport terminal building will be carried out, the cost of which is UAH 300 million.
After the completion of the reconstruction work, the airport will be able to service 400 passengers per hour.
“We need to implement these plans and carry out the reconstruction of the airport,” the president stressed.
The airport has already installed new equipment for servicing regular flights, which will allow it to receive aircraft such as A320 and Boeing 737.
In turn, Deputy Head of the President’s Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko noted that both the terminal and the runway were planned to be completed until October 2022. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
