Ainars Ozols has been re-approved as the chairman of Riga municipality’s Rigas satiksme Council, as confirmed by the company.
On December 22, the new council of Rigas satiksme gathered for the first meeting. The council consists of Ozols and Normunds Narvaiss, as well as newly appointed Rolands Panko.
The new council was elected through an open contest organized by Riga City Council.
At the first meeting of the council Ozols was re-elected as the chairman of the council of Rigas satiksme, whereas Narvaiss was elected as vice-chairman of the council.
One of the first acts of the council will be approval of Rigas satiksme’s budget for 2021 and the company’s medium-term strategy, which is planned to be reviewed at the beginning of next year.
Last year the turnover of Rigas satiksme was EUR 191.177 million, up by 9% YoY. The company worked with profits of EUR 7.73 million as opposed to losses observed in 2018.
Rigas satiksme provides passenger transport services in Riga using buses, tramways and trolleybuses. Riga City Council is the company’s sole owner. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
