As of October 26, farmers of Ukraine have planted winter crops throughout the areas of 7.3 million ha (89% of the plan). Particularly, 1.1 million ha was planted during the last week, declared the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.
Winter wheat was planted throughout 5.5 million ha (91%), winter barley – 802.2 thousand ha (85%), winter rye – 112.8 thousand ha (85%) and winter rapeseed – 855.6 thousand ha (85%).
Last week, the fastest progress of winter planting campaign was observed in Kherson region (294.4 thousand ha), Luhansk region (184.6 thousand ha) and Dnipropetrovsk region (108.07 thousand ha).
Poltava, Volyn, Luhansk and Cherkasy regions have already completed the planting campaign. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
