The number of passengers serviced by Ukrainian transport companies in January-September decreased by 54.4% (2.2-fold) YoY, to 37.1 billion passenger-kilometers, according to the data provided by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
Over the reporting period, 1.90 billion passengers used the services of domestic transport companies, down by 40%.
In particular, the number of passengers carried by rail in January-September reached 51.7 million, down by 56.1%; passenger turnover totaled 8.15 billion passenger-kilometers (down 2.7-fold).
Some 804.9 million passengers were carried by motor vehicles in January-September, down by 40.5%, passenger turnover amounted to about 14.30 billion passenger-kilometers (-43.7%).
Ukrainian airlines carried 3.8 million passengers over the reporting period, down by 2.8-fold; passenger turnover amounted to 7.90 billion passenger-kilometers (down 2.9-fold). (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
