Ukraine’s State Food Safety and Consumer Protection Service says the Chinese side has officially opened its market for imports of frozen blueberries and bilberries.
10 Ukrainian companies producing the said fruit have already been registered for the relevant supplies, the Service’s press service has reported.
China is in the lead of the top three importers of Ukrainian goods (15% of all imports in the first half of 2020). Germany and Russia share the second position (9% each).
Ukraine in 2018 boosted exports of fruit and berries by 17% YoY, to $229 million. Exports in January-June 2019 grew by 16%, to $116 million. Ukraine’s shipments of fruit and vegetables abroad in 2019 hit a record high of $339 million. In 2019, Ukraine updated its historical record for exports of fruit and vegetables, having fully recovered from Russia’s embargo, but completely stopping supplies to the Russian market.
