Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Kryklii says the Cabinet of Ministers, Ukraine’s government, has decided to relaunch the subways on May 25.
“The transport system in Ukraine will become gradually operational from May 22. Regular and chartered passenger transportation by road on urban, commuter, regional and international routes will be resumed from May 22; passenger transportation by underground – from May 25; passenger transportation by rail on urban, regional, long-distance domestic and interregional routes – from June 1; interregional passenger transportation by road – from June 1. Handling arrivals and departures of passenger aircraft will be resumed from June 15,” he wrote on Telegram on May 20.
Mandatory safety requirements remain in place, he said, i.e. passengers would be required to wear facemasks, workers should have temperature screening and vehicles should undergo deep-cleaning. The subway service is available in three Ukrainian cities, namely Kyiv, Kharkiv and Dnipro. (UNIAN/Business World Magazine)
