Southern regions of Kazakhstan have already started the planting campaign of spring crops, reported the First Vice-Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aydarbek Saparov.
In particular, Jambyl region planted spring crops throughout 249.5 thousand ha, or 67% of the forecast, Turkistan region – 167.5 thousand ha (25.5%), Almaty region – 97.1 thousand ha (15.6%) and Kyzylorda region – 23.9 thousand ha (17.6%).
In the current year, the overall planted areas under agricultural crops increased to 22.5 million ha. In particular, the planted areas under highly profitable oilseeds, vegetables and forage crops will increase by 23.8 thousand ha, Saparov added.
As for the provision of Kazakh agrarians with agricultural resources for the planting works, he stressed that in the current year the authorities would provide subsidies not only for the purchase of herbicides, but also for other pesticides – fungicides and insecticides. It will allow keeping the higher level of phytosanitary safety of the planted areas. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
