Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Vladyslav Krykliy has stated that transport links with the occupied Crimea are not restored.
“At the instruction of the President of Ukraine, the construction of the Chonhar and Kalanchak entry-exit checkpoints on Ukrainian administrative border with Crimea is nearing completion. Near the checkpoints, the stations are being equipped from which Ukrainian carriers will transport passengers across Ukraine, and I want to emphasize: Ukrainian carriers and exclusively across Ukraine,” the minister posted on Facebook.
According to the minister, the restoration of any routes to or from the occupied Crimea is out of the question.
“It is about creating decent conditions for passengers who will be able to get on a bus of legal Ukrainian carrier at a station near the entry-exit checkpoints and continue traveling across Ukraine,” Krykliy noted.
Earlier, some media reports appeared with reference to an interview with Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Vladyslav Krykliy where he had allegedly said that transport links between occupied Crimea and mainland Ukraine would be restored. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
