Industrial output in Ukraine in April accelerated to 5.2% from 2.1% in March. With calendar adjustment, industrial production growth in Ukraine in April accelerated to 4.4% YoY against 2.7% in March, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine has said.
Industrial production in April compared to March decreased by 1.8% without calendar adjustment, but saw a 0.9% growth with calendar adjustment.
The highest increase in industrial production in April was recorded in the manufacture of computers, electronic and optical products (44.3%), machinery and equipment (27.5%), pharmaceuticals (23%), chemical industry (14.7%), and metallurgy (9.9%).
The YoY decrease was recorded in six sectors: textile production (by 9.1%), coal mining (8.4%), the manufacture of electrical equipment (by 5.5%), motor vehicles (4.8%), woodworking (4%), coke and petrochemical industry (2.5%).
The State Statistics Service says the data is given excluding reports from Russia-occupied Crimea, parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
In March, Ukraine saw a 2.1% increase in industrial production YoY without calendar adjustment, after a 1.8% decline in February. In 2018, industrial output in Ukraine grew by 1.1% after a 0.1% decline in 2017. (UNIAN/Business World Magazine)
