In the fourth quarter of 2018, the number of registered unemployed in Ukraine decreased by 100 thousand people compared with the fourth quarter of 2017, and the unemployment rate shrank by 0.6%, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine reported.
“According to the results of a sample survey of the population (households) on economic activity, the number of employed people aged 15-70 years in the fourth quarter of 2018 made up 16.2 million people, and the number of unemployed of the respective age was 1.7 million people,” the report says.
The unemployment rate among the economically active population aged 15-70 years in the fourth quarter of 2018 was 9.3% (in cities – 9.1%, and in villages – 9.8%).
In the fourth quarter of 2017, the number of employed population aged 15-70 years was 16 million people, the unemployed made up 1.8 million people. The unemployment rate among the economically active population of the respective age was 9.9% (in cities – 9.8%, and in villages – 10.3%).
As reported, according to the State Statistics Service, the unemployment rate among the economically active population aged 15-70 years has decreased by 0.3% since the first quarter of 2015. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
