In January seaports of Ukraine handled 11.9 million tons of cargo, up by 3.4% YoY, says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
According to the statement, the growth was mainly driven by a 12% increase of exports (by 1 million tons), while import and transit dropped by 23.3% (by almost 500,000 tons) and by 12.5% (by over 100,000 tons) accordingly.
Transshipment of grain and ore grew by over 21% (by 665,000 and 406,000 tons accordingly).
Container throughput in seaports of Ukraine grew by 34% (almost 20,000 TEUs).
