In the first 4 months of 2018-2019 MY (July-October) Ukraine imported 509 tons of rye, up 3-fold YoY (238 tons), but down by 62% from 2016-2017 MY (1.3 thousand tons).
At the same time, in two recent seasons Ukraine imported the grain exclusively from the EU countries, while in 2016-2017 MY there were rather significant supplies of rye from Belarus.
Also, in July-October 2018 the imports of rye flour to Ukraine totaled nearly 2.5 thousand tons, down 2.3-fold YoY (5.8 thousand tons) and 5.8-fold from 2016-2017 MY (14.3 thousand tons). For 3 seasons in a row Belarus has remained the main supplier of the product. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
