China has allowed performing regular flights from Ukraine to the cities of Haikou and Sanya located on Hainan Island, the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine reports.
As noted in the letter by which the Chinese side confirmed the relevant decision, the designated air carriers can perform unlimited number of flights to Hainan Island, using the third and the fourth air freedoms. These freedoms provide the rights to carry passengers and goods from Ukraine to China and vice versa.
Three Ukrainian airlines – UIA, Azur Air Ukraine and SkyUp – have submitted applications for obtaining the right to perform regular flights from Kyiv to Haikou and Sanya.
To date, only UIA performs regular flights to China, flying between Kyiv and Beijing. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
